The week 15.08.-19.08.2022

The major U.S. stock indexes were little changed for most of the week, but ended with a decline on Friday, snapping the S&P 500 and NASDAQ’s four-week winning streak. With the next Federal Reserve meeting in the United States just over a month away, investors are concerned about the pace of future interest-rate increases. Last month, inflation in the eurozone’s 19 member countries rose at an annual rate of 8.9%, the highest level since the currency’s inception in 1999. In the United Kingdom, inflation rose to 10.1%, the fastest rate since 1982, according to a separate report. In comparison, the most recent monthly inflation reading in the United States was 8.5%.
The S&P 500 ended the week down with -0.96%. One-Signal Xpert posted gains of 1.71% and continues with strong outperformance.
